MICHAEL M. HAGLUND, MD, PHD, MED - DUKE SPINE CENTER REVIEWS
Dr. Haglund is one of the finest doctors I've ever met. A praying doctor who doesn't mind giving the credit to God for his ability to get the job done. He did my surgery on four different discs at two different times and I am very satisfied with what he did. My neck is so much better and I appreciate the team that work with him to make my experience so comfortable. Thank you Dr.Haglund . I would highly recommend him to anyone with neck problems.
I was scheduled to have back surgery by another surgeon to have a titanium rod with bolts and screws placed in my lower back. This would be my third back surgery. I had suffered so much back pain from a back injury for years. Upon the insistence of a very close friend I went to Duke Hospital for a second opinion. Dr Michael Haglund studied my X-ray, scheduled a minimally invasive surgery which he performed. Before the surgery, he had prayer with me and I was so comforted to know he was a Believer. The surgery was successfully completed, I have been mostly pain free with an occasional flare up that I can manage my pain with exercise and prayer. Saying all of that, I highly recommend Dr Haglund. He is the best! I was so blessed to find him and highly recommend him.
Dr Haglund is a godly surgeon. He and staff prayed with me and my family before taking me to surgery. I felt so at ease. Thank you to him for serving our God.

OREN N. GOTTFRIED, MD - DUKE SPINE CENTER REVIEWS
Dr. Gottfried allowed me to walk again. After years of suffering and a continual downward spiral in my ability to walk at all, I found Dr. Gottfried. He listened, explained exactly what to expect and was spot on with his explanation. I have never had the type of confidence in a doctor as I do with Dr. Gottfried. Although I live in Sunset Beach and have to travel if I need to see him, there is no other doctor I would ever consider for any type of back surgery. My husband and I can't say enough of how much respect we have for him and how we appreciate him. We recommend him to all our retiree friends here in Sunset who suffer with chronic back pain. Thanks Dr. Gottfried!
I appreciated the time Dr. Gottfried took to consult about my health issues which have caused me to see multiple specialists in the last 6 months. He had reviewed all of my history before we met and he took the time to explain my recent MRI. He even gave me a print out of one MRI view for my records. No one has ever done that before. He showed concern for helping me find a correct diagnosis and treatment and indicated he would stay involved. That meant a lot to me.
Dr. Gottfried is one of the most outstanding doctors my husband and I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. He is one caring man when it comes to his patients! Who ever heard of a highly prestigious surgeon giving his patients his personal cell phone number and answering it! He communicated with me frequently while my husband was under his care at Duke University Hospital. The commute to get there took us over an hour but was well worth it! We cannot say one negative thing about this fine man! We wish him the best in this life!

Careful, innovative and compassionate. A great team member when my daughter faced a rare diagnosis -- declared to have a poor prognosis. 25 years later she has continued to live thanks to the Duke Team
