DENNIS S. OH, MD - BAYSTATE NEUROSURGERY REVIEWS
Dr. Oh and his team are awesome. By the way I am a senior citizen. I used to be a long distance marathon runner. For ten years I suffered with cervical stenosis the pain in the neck, shoulders and tingling in the fingers were just too much for me. So I stopped running. The pain got better but it was still there. Until one day in the middle of the night I had chest pain. I thought that I was having a heart attack, went to the ER they found nothing. I did some research there was a possibility that it was the cervical stenosis causing it. Before I went to see Dr. Oh. I had gone to see two different surgeons but their technique were not what I was looking for, recovery time was six months. I have heard about Dr. Oh from different people that he had worked on and went to see Dr. Oh he told me what he was going to do and I agreed. So he scheduled me for surgery. Three days after the surgery I started to power walk 4 miles a day. I stopped the medications except Tylenol. A month after surgery I went to see him he was very pleased, so he told to go back to be active again without restrictions. It has been 5 weeks after cervical stenosis surgery and I am power walking and jogging without pain and being out of breath like I used to be. Dr. Oh is a world class surgeon and he deserves all the credit. Of course you have to do your part too.
Everyone we talked to out here in the Berkshires recommended Dr. Oh for my neck issue. I saw why. He was courteous, respectful, helpful and explained everything thoroughly. He used MRI images to explain, which most helpful. His knowledge and manner made us completely comfortable with deciding on surgery, without hesitation and that says a lot since we have had a bad experience with a neck surgery in our family.
Suffered with severe nerve pain in neck. Went to see Dr O found 2 disks needed to be replace. After surgery pain in arm and neck was better. Been couple months and I feel some discomfort but it is alot better. He said it will take some time to feel 100% I highly recommend Dr O he and his office and team r the best. Thank u all and God bless.

KAMAL KALIA, MD, FAANS - BAYSTATE NEUROSURGERY REVIEWS
I have had the misfortune of needing surgery to correct 3 herniated discs in my lumbar spine, however, I have been blessed to have had Dr. Kalia as my surgeon for each operation. When I was a 20ish year old man working manual labor and having progressed to the point of debilitating pain, Dr. Kalia performed a microdiscectomy on my spine and saved my life, returning full mobility with no residual pain or deficit. Fast forward 20 years, and amazingly, I now work alongside Dr. Kalia as a healthcare professional. This summer I experienced another herniation which he was able to correct just as effectively. Unfortunately, I reherniated the same disc several weeks later, badly. I was unable to peel myself off the floor and ended up calling 911 and spending the night in the ED. In the morning, Dr. Kalia to the rescue once again! I can’t say enough good things about him. Great beside manner, excellent teacher. I know from personal experience working along side of him, and being worked on by him, that before during and after surgery his patients are his number one priority, no exceptions.
Many thanks for resolving my disc issues, recently. You alleviated the pain I was experiencing. We are very fortunate to have skilled doctors, like you. You are the best of the best! Once again, many thanks for your compassionate care and concern.
Dr. Kalia gave me my son back! He saved my child and i will forever be grateful for him he was GOD’S instrument!

FREDERIK PENNINGS, MD, PHD, FACS - HOLYOKE MEDICAL CENTER REVIEWS
I sought out a neurosurgeon who was experienced in minimally invasive techniques to remove two discs at my L2-3 and L3-4 level and place surgical screws to correct Scoliosis. I was having falls due to my nerves being compressed causing knees to go numb and give way. I had a disc removed at L4-5 with screws about 12 years ago. The difference in Post Op pain was much less extreme due to the advancements in techniques. Dr. Pennings is very talented in this field, his team works well with him and speak highly of him as well. He has an easy-going manner and is thorough and took all the time I needed. I don't think I could have found a better surgeon to do my procedure. He was kind caring and pleasant. His assistant, Michael Bennett, was awesome and easy to talk to as well. What a great group! I was able to leave the hospital the day after surgery and am recovering quickly.
Dr. Pennings looked at my almost paralyzed hand and immediately diagnosed me with nerve compression due to severe carpal tunnel syndrome. He and his office staff got me tested and into the operating room in less than a week. Thanks to Dr. Pennings - I immediately began to regain feeling and strenth in my hand and now have recovered 100%. Because the carpal tunnel was addressed so quickly and accurately permanent nerve damage was avoided. I will be forever grateful to Dr. Pennings for fixing my hand and helping me to get back to work very quickly.
Amazing surgeon. Saved my mothers life .Successfully operated twice on my mother within 1 year( Almond Muldrow) ...The fact that she is here is a complete miracle ! I cant say enough good things about him and his entire team , Michael Bennett and Sheila Baymon and Marisol ....Thank you !
