JONATHAN S STARKMAN, MD - PIONEER VALLEY UROLOGY REVIEWS
I highly recommend Dr. Starkman, he has given me back a portion of my life that we all take for granted. He is a "no sugar coated" kind of doctor who will tell you the truth no matter what. I had a surgery for an unrelated condition that left me unable to urinate on my own at all (chronic bladder retention) due to nerves cut around my bladder. I was left on a Foley catheter for over a year, because I could also not feel or know when my bladder was full. He was the only doctor who could figure out some sort of solution to help besides being stuck with an indwelling catheter for the rest of my life. I am slowly regaining the ability to urinate after this procedure (still need to cath but I can now feel when my bladder is full and able to void naturally a decent amount). He is the only doctor to suggest, take the time and try to help with success. He even warned me this was the only possible option to help and it wasn't a guarantee. I'm someone with a lot of health issues and tend to have Drs sugar coat or put the problem on others. Again, I highly recommend him (so much so that I travel over an hour and fifteen minutes to see him)!
I have had a family member under his care for about 7 or 8 yrs. Always professional and always caring. Sometimes runs late, but I would never say he was rude or standoffish as above. Certainly not an oaf. Normal guy who is interested in his patients. Not sure what more you could ask for....
I am under the care of doctor starkman and his office. I find doctor starkman to be patient, knowledgeable, empathetic, explains everything, answers all your questions and takes his time. I highly recommend doctor starkman. His office staff is just as compassionate and helpful.

WILLIAM E SWANSON, MD, MBA - PIONEER VALLEY UROLOGY REVIEWS
Dr. Swanson handled my father’s case of an extremely enlarged prostate with utmost care and professionalism. He listened to my father’s and family’s concerns and answered all our questions before and after the surgery, which was a robotic simple prostatectomy. He called me right after he completed the procedure to let me know how everything went. He has also been extremely attentive to Dad’s recovery. We highly recommend Dr. Swanson!
I had my vasectomy with Dr. Swanson. He was great to deal with throughout the procedure. I was his 5th patient with the same procedure of the day! What made me comfortable is knowing that when having such a procedure you want someone who can basically do it in their sleep. I'd say a doctor (Dr. Swanson) that did 5 that day has a pretty good grasp on what he is doing. My aftercare went smooth and as expected. I'd do it again if I had to, and I'd do it again with Dr. Swanson! But luckily I don't have to..."all juice, no seed!" Thanks Dr. Swanson!!!! As for ejaculating afterwards, see the display name I chose!
I have been a patient for several years. First visit was an emergency and I have been going for annual checkup ever since. The front office is really very good in terms of scheduling and getting you into the exam room. The wait can be 10 minutes plus once in the exam area - the trade off is that Dr. Swanson focuses only on you once in the exam room and he takes the necessary time to let you ask questions and he responds coherently.
