“Dr. Stephen Esses earned his MS and MD from the University of Toronto in Ontario. Dr. Esses pursued specialized training in spinal surgery, including one year at Harvard University and six months at Chiba University in Japan, as well as a McLaughlin fellow in Europe. Dr. Esses is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and the American Board of Spine Surgery and has over 46 years of experience. He holds certifications from the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, the American Board of Spine Surgeons, and the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review. He has developed new surgical techniques and implants for treating spinal problems. Dr. Esses specializes in treating spinal disorders. Dr. Esses has published numerous articles and book chapters on spine-related issues. Dr. Esses is the author of the Textbook of Spinal Disorders, a standard reference for spinal medical personnel. His practice is also available in Baytown, Pearland, Katy, and Humble, Texas offices. Dr. Esses is an active staff member of 10 hospitals in Texas and practices with the Southwest Orthopedic Group in multiple convenient locations. He speaks English.”
