“Dr. Stephen Esses earned his MS and MD from the University of Toronto in Ontario. Dr. Esses pursued specialized training in spinal surgery, including one year at Harvard University and six months at Chiba University in Japan and as a McLaughlin fellow in Europe. Dr. Stephen is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and the American Board of Spine Surgery and has over 45 years of experience. He holds certifications from the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, the American Board Of Spine Surgeons, and the American Board Of Quality Assurance And Utilization Review. He has developed new surgical techniques and implants for treating spinal problems. Dr. Stephen specializes in treating spinal disorders. His clinical interests are in the biomechanics of the spine, minimally invasive surgery, and coccygeal pain. Dr. Stephen has published numerous articles and book chapters on spine-related issues. Dr. Stephen is the author of the Textbook of Spinal Disorders, a standard reference for spinal medical personnel. His practice is also available in Baytown, Pearland, Katy, and Humble, Texas offices.”
