Dr. Stephen Esses is an esteemed orthopedic surgeon renowned for his expertise in spinal disorders. He completed his university education, medical school, and orthopedic residency at the University of Toronto. Dr. Esses then pursued specialized training in spinal surgery, including a year at Harvard University and six months each at Chiba University in Japan and as a McLaughlin fellow in Europe. He holds certifications from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, the American Board of Spine Surgery, and the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians. Dr. Esses has dedicated himself to advancing surgical techniques and developing innovative implants to treat spinal conditions effectively. His clinical interests span spinal surgery, biomechanics of the spine, minimally invasive surgery, and coccygeal pain. He is an international lecturer and has contributed articles and book chapters on spine-related issues.
