“Amarillo Zoo is a perfect spot to share the wonders of the animal world with children of all ages. The zoo is designed for entertainment and discovery and provides a lifetime of memories. The zoo comprised over 80 species of animals and occupied an area of 2.5 acres. The exhibit themes included Willie the Whale, Mouse Town, Indian Teepee, and Three Men in a Tub. The zoo aims to be the premier place in the Texas panhandle for wildlife education and family entertainment. The "Mountain" was the original main entrance featured the Seven Dwarfs Mine. Amarillo Zoo is pleased to offer a range of entertaining and educational on-site or off-site programs for students to boost science literacy, link curriculum to state standards, reinforce concepts taught in the classroom, and bring book learning to life. You can explore the bison, big cats, reptiles, birds, and amphibians. The Amarillo Zoo offers free admission for infants.”
