“The Living Coast Discovery Center aims to inspire the community to connect with and care for its coastal environment. The aquarium features sea turtles, eagles, sharks, owls, snakes, falcons, and lizards. The refuge offers 1.5 miles of walking trails for visitors to explore. Covering 316 acres of Sweetwater Marsh National Wildlife Refuge in Southern California, LCDC provides an ideal opportunity to learn about the diverse range of plants and animals inhabiting the coastal area. The centre is a popular destination for school field trips, with over 29,000 students visiting in a single year. It provides visitors with a free shuttle service on a 15-minute loop that traverses the national wildlife refuge. LCDC offers field trips, outreach programmes, scouting activities, and other community education programmes. Guests can enjoy complimentary parking at the centre.”
