“Fort Worth Zoo has over 500 species of animals and a world-famous collection of reptiles, and it funds wildlife conservation programs in more than 30 countries around the world. Since 1992, the Zoo has opened 16 permanent habitats and supporting facilities, virtually creating a new Zoo. Ten years of improvements and Association management were celebrated with the addition of Texas Wild in 2001, which houses seven distinct habitats within an 8-acre complex. The Zoo aims to strengthen the connection between humans and the environment through dedicated conservation efforts, education, and recreation. The Zoo focuses on education, conservation, and improving the lives of more than 1 million visitors a year. It has grown into a nationally recognized facility, housing almost 7,000 exotic and native animals. The Zoo's year-round programs give children the opportunity to engage with realistic environmental technology. Fort Worth Zoo offers free entry for toddlers aged 2 and under.”
