“Fort Worth Zoo has over 500 species of animals and a world-famous collection of reptiles, and the Zoo funds wildlife conservation programs in more than 30 countries worldwide. The Zoo aims to strengthen the connection between humans and the environment through dedicated conservation efforts, education, and recreation. The Zoo has extended support facilities and 16 permanent habitats, almost making a new Zoo in 1992. In 2001, Texas Wild celebrated the improvements and Association management for ten years within an 8-acre complex that houses seven distinct habitats. The Zoo focuses on education, conservation, and growing the lives of more than 1 million visitors a year.
