U.S. Space & Rocket Center is a Smithsonian Affiliate and the Official Visitor Center for NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center. The museum has one of the largest collections of rockets and space memorabilia on display anywhere in the world. Most of the visitors have been from out of state or from foreign nations. The museum's Spacedome IMAX Theater brings you to several worlds with amazing documentary films like Hubble. Live demonstrations in the Discovery Theater will have you viewing space science in an entirely new light. In the park, guests can experience 3 Gs of centrifugal force aboard a G-Force Accelerator, see a Boeing CH-47D Chinook and other military hardware, as well as view a mock-up of the Apollo 11 landing site, including a model of the lunar lander and planted American flag on the cratered surface. U.S. Veterans Memorial Museum is committed to promoting and disseminating the accomplishments of American military men and women. The museum is an educational institution for historical preservation, public display, and public education. The museum's focus is on participants of World War I and following conflicts, whose survivors and families can utilize the museum facilities to recall their own experiences and those of parents, grandparents, and other close relatives. U.S. Veterans Memorial Museum was established by the Alabama House of Representatives as the State of Alabama Veterans Memorial Museum. The museum showcases over 30 historical military vehicles from World War I to the present, as well as tableaus, artifacts, and other memorabilia that go back to the Revolutionary War. Here, group tours are available by appointment. U.S. Veterans Memorial Museum offers free admission for active duty personnel in uniform and their guests.
