Arabia Steamboat Museum is a popular attraction of Kansas City, a museum that held 200 tons of life cargo on the American border in 1856. The story of sunken Arabia and its cargo, a fascinating time capsule of life on the American frontier, examines the lives of Western settlers. The longest US river that claimed almost 400 other steamboats along its 2,500-mile length. It is the most comprehensive single collection of pre-Civil War artifacts in the world. It has over 200 tons of cargo in 16 midwest frontier cities, intended for general stores and homes. The collection is an ongoing task as preservationists strive to clean 60 more tons of artifacts in a conservation lab that visitors can display.
