CALIFORNIA SURF MUSEUM REVIEWS

Absolutely loved this museum, and my friend and I aren't even a surfers. It was very informative, great displays that takes you through the history of boards and surfers. This museum if for all ages. Don't miss the outdoor Secret Spot too. The people that worked there were very nice. There is a small fee for this neighborhood hidden gem. If visiting Oceanside I would piggyback this museum with other places in Oceanside as we did. The museum is small and only takes an hour or maybe an hour and a half to go through. P.S. after you take in all the Surfing Museum there is a great ice cream parlor (Handel's) right down the street.

I love this museum. Not only are the staff super knowledgeable and friendly but they have a memorial wall for surfers who have passed. I added a plaque for my stepdad who passed while surfing and it’s the best way to honor him. He was passionate about surfing and supporting local businesses.

Best museum ever. Had a great time checking out the cool exhibits. Surf music, art, fashion, history, they've got it all. Best part was the friendly and knowledgeable host. He's a surfing encyclopedia! Put this on your Oceanside to-do list.

OCEANSIDE MUSEUM OF ART REVIEWS

A gem of an art museum with excellent range and quality of exhibits. A cultural oasis in North County, with visitors coming from LA, Orange and Riverside Counties, Camp Pendleton, all parts of the US, and of course, throughout San Diego. Not precocious, welcoming staff, a joy to visit with or without kids! Award-winning educational programs for all ages. Free parking.

This is a wonderful small museum, but with plenty of character and exhibits. Definitely worth the entrance fee. And it's location allows you to do a multitude of things before/after. The docent upstairs was super friendly and shared a lot of great info about the artist who has a temporary exhibit there.

Beatuful library with lots of desks & seating. Upstairs is for adults with desks overlooking the lobby and the downstairs has bench seating in thw kidd section (tho a bit noisy if lots of kids are there) They seem to have printing capabilities.

ANTIQUE GAS & STEAM ENGINE MUSEUM REVIEWS

We happened to go to this museum on a late Friday afternoon. We missed a couple of demos in the morning, and the place was pretty much empty, but even then, we were allowed to go on a self guided tour, which we didn't get to finish, because the place is huge. If you like old machines and steam engines you will love this place. We spoke to people in the main office and they showed us all the cool things to see and do during the weekends and all the events in the summer time. I will post a picture of their schedule if you are interested, but they have a blacksmith shop, a glass blowing shop, a farmhouse that offers home made goodies to eat, and a weavers shop with many working looms. These places also offer classes, and there is even a campground where you can spend the weekend. I am looking forward to my next visit and all the interesting things I'll get to see.

55 acres of rusty awesomeness! Antique farm equipment, big engines and so much more! Unfortunately we came two weeks too early to see them fire up some of the equipment and machines. They also have live music events.

Unique place to walk around. The park is free but accepts donations. Except the charge admission for events. Takes a few hours to see old trucks, engines, saw mill, shovels, farm equipment and cars. Dog friendly.
