I have had the privilege of knowing Dr. Joaquin J. Estrada for more than 15 years, dating back to when I first met him as a medical student. Fast-forward to my 12 years practicing medicine in Chicago, and I have confidently referred countless patients to him. Without exception, they have returned with glowing reviews about the quality of their care and their overall experience. Dr. Estrada is a truly top-notch surgeon whose expertise, precision, and dedication to his patients are second to none. Just as impressive is his entire clinical and administrative team, who are consistently attentive, detail-oriented, responsive, and responsible. When you refer a patient to a physician, you place your own professional reputation and the patient’s well-being in that person’s hands. I have always felt completely confident doing so with Dr. Estrada. Without a doubt, he is the surgeon and physician to see.

He listened attentively, gave me the answers I needed, and clearly explained the different options and steps he would take if I decide to proceed with surgery. He recognized everything I’ve been through in my past procedures and was very precise in outlining the precautions he would take in my case. I first came to know of Dr. Heilizer via the internet looking for a proctologist to treat my hemorrhoid issues. My appointment was added at the tail end of his schedule. However, he 15+ years of experience got me a quick surgery date and a 5 minute meeting with detailed conversation and examination. I was skeptical at first because of how quick the appointment went and wasn’t going to consider his expertise until I left and thought about how matter of fact he was in that short time. From the time I met him in his office until the time he scheduled my surgery and gave me instructions on pre examination needs to the procedure date and now recovery. Dr. Heilizer didn’t disappoint at all. This man is excellent at what he does and very professional. I am so in awe how he uses human interaction and his medical clinical experience to create a safe, supportive and effective environment for treatment without dragging things along, straight to the point and impromptu information and never wavering on what needs to be done and how it will help or hurt patients. I wrote this review because I couldn’t stop thinking about the process in which he cared for me and how I never encountered this type of care before. It’s true you don’t know what to expect if you’ve never had it or don’t know what to look for. Now I know. Dr. HEILIZER and his staff are the best (team) thing that ever happened to me and my colon. I will forever be greatful. Sincerely. He get down to the matter of what is ailing your colon and he will fix you. He will explain in layman's term and even draw pictures to help you envision the issue to help you better understand the solution. My insurance has changed but I'm going to try to see if I can still follow up with him. It's been 3 years and I'm a changed person compared to pre-op years. Bless him.
