This area is a great respite from driving around the city! We walked along the cement paths and watched water fowl foraging in the rivers. The placards with historical information about the flood put the historical significance into perspective. We walked across a bridge to a park where people were jogging along paths, and sitting under shady trees.

This is a really nice park with plenty of picnic shelters, easy access to the bike path and a good landing place for canoers and kayakers. There is an interesting section with several little islands connected by arched bridges. Awesome little lake that's easily accessible, plenty of loading space for jet skis and personal watercraft.

Great park for kids of all ages! Our three year old loved the huge sand pit (which has fountains for mud in the summer, we hear) and the multiple playsets. Really nice, new playground equipment; great variety! Busy but not crowded; lots of young kids, older kids playing basketball, and adults playing tennis.
