Highland Park is beautiful and I come walk here very often. It's well-maintained and there is a lot to see here. I love how many of the trees and foliage are labeled/tagged with additional information. The reservoir here is gorgeous and I recommend visiting the park during the spring. Especially when the Lilac festival is going on or right around that time because almost everything is in bloom and it's beautiful.

Cobb's Hill Park is a great recreation area for Rochester, with a nice selection of activities including basketball, baseball, and tennis. There are also some great open areas, a lake, and a rent able hall. For the active types there is also great walking and running options. Atop the reservoir is a nice flat paved walk (just under a mile), with a slightly hilly service road around that for people wanting a little more. Right next to that is also a nice trail area called Washington Grove Park.
