Mission Bay Park is the most fabulous aquatic park in San Diego and consists of over 4,235 acres in almost equal parts of land and water. It is one of San Diego's most fun-filled places to visit. The park boasts 27 miles of shoreline, 19 of which are sandy beaches with eight sites designated as official swimming areas. Mission Bay Park offers boat docks, launching facilities, sailboats, motor rentals, basketball courts, and playgrounds for kids. Showers and lifeguard stations are located in designated areas.
