Barely Mash in San Diego completely lived up to the hype we saw on Chopped from Food Network! We went there for lunch and ordered the fish and chips and the burger. Both dishes were exceptional, but the fish and chips really stood out. The fish was perfectly crispy on the outside while tender and flaky on the inside, and the fries were golden and seasoned just right. What really surprised us was the pickle slaw served with it—it added such a fresh, tangy twist to the dish and elevated the entire meal. Even their homemade ketchup was something special, with a flavor that perfectly complemented the fries. The burger was equally impressive, with juicy, flavorful meat and fresh toppings that made every bite satisfying. The menu offers some unique spins on classic dishes, so definitely ask questions if you have any dietary preferences or if you're not sure about a certain flavor combination. But trust me, the twists are worth it! Our experience was made even better by the amazing service. Our server, Aaron, was incredibly kind, warm, and attentive, making us feel welcome from the moment we sat down. He took time to explain the menu and offer great recommendations. The hostess was also super friendly and had a great attitude, which set a positive tone for the entire meal. Had an enjoyable lunch here today. Server was attentive and hostess was great. We arrived about a half hour before they opened and sat at a table outside. She welcomed us, told us we could stay until they opened and offered us a table inside or out. We opted for inside. The only strange thing was that, upon opening, they were already out of the fish and chips special. We all chose different flatbreads and they were all delicious. We sat long after our bill was paid as my friends and I hadn't seen each other in six years and no one tried to rush us out. A delightful meal with friends, great food and a great atmosphere. Had an amazing Sunday brunch here! The menu had so many great options, and everything we ordered was delicious. Staff and managers were super attentive, constantly checking in. Loved the live music too.

We stopped here after stopping by the Padres team store. I had a steak sandwich that was amazing. Our group also had chicken tenders that were really good. They come with tator tots that were cooked to crispy the only way to eat the tots. Our waitress was helpful, funny, and interacted with our son which he enjoyed.

One of the best places to eat in San Diego Downtown. Some of the best Chicken Wings I've ever had. Brunch on Saturday and Sunday 11am to 1pm is awesome. Have your ID ready at the door. Allie is amazing.

Amazing atmosphere and a lot of sports as usual. Great wings and huge selection of beers. Never disappoints to be there. Despite crowd servers are quick and efficient. always good times.
