The different types of trees make the contrast of the fall colors really stand out. This park is close to the I-5 freeway exit, gas, hotels, fast food, and Alaska street. Keeping that in mind as your GPS may reconfigure while driving. *Note, 72nd turns into 74th. There's a great off leash dog park there. Haven't seen one dog fight yet, and the people are pretty friendly. The lake gets mostly full sun and there's plenty of ducks, geese, and turtles in the Lake.
A little gem of a park. The lake is lovely and takes about fifteen minutes to walk around. It's really close to a lot of stores, so I like to go there and take a nice break outside between errands. There's also a playground and picnic areas, and lots of benches in nooks. The walk around the lake is paved and even, very accessible, but don't miss the smaller extra trails through the woods and the marsh. I went there five times before my friend pointed out they were there. The marsh has catwalks over it with good birdwatching spots, and there are other trails through the woods by the dog parks, including a fenced off-leash dog walking forest trail.
Good amount of parking, a lot of spots to chill (picnic tables, benches, pavilion, etc), and great care put into keeping the majority of the park clean with trash cans located throughout. Large and small dog parks on site in addition to winding trails, playground for the kids, and fishing docks around the lake. Our dog always leaves with a smile on her face just from walking the trails.
