This is my second home! I am a wildlife photographer, and the amount of species that make this park home is amazing! There are fun events going on at least once a month and the park is large enough that even if these events are going on there is plenty of room for my photography or family's to come out and enjoy themselves! It is also very affordable to rent out spaces to hold your own parties. I love this, though. i do wish they could get a handle on some of the homeless. I don't have a problem with them being there, just that some are rather aggressive.
Today was quite the experience. So it was just me and my 4 boys driving around the whole park and it was very lively. It felt good to see all the people around just unplugged and there wasn't a phone, iPad, or tablet in sight. It definitely made me feel nostalgic. I was able to leave some of my kids' play things unattended without having to worry about anyone swiping anything. The kids were friendly to my kids, the adults kept to themselves and remanded their own children when needed. Definitely felt like the 90s again. We will for sure plan a lot of visits to Woodward Park for this summer.
Hidden Fresno gem. I come here whenever I'm in town for a nice run. Great mix of paved and dirt trails for every type of runner. Plenty of wildlife around, so be aware of surroundings.
