Sue Sampson Dalena is the owner of the dance school and has been the artistic director of this school for 43 years. She has attracted thousands of dancers from throughout the state of California, especially from the Central Valley. She has also served as a guest teacher for various institutions and workshops, such as Ballet Plus with Francisco Gella in Costa Rica and Pat Jackson's American Dance. Dance Studio of Fresno boasts a team of exceptional instructors who are passionate and dedicated. They offer 175 dance classes every week with a staff of 35 instructors. The dance school's instructors prioritize building self-confidence and self-discipline in their students. They conduct more than 120 classes every week, including private lessons and team rehearsals, with nearly 1,000 pupils. Additionally, Dance Studio of Fresno produces annual dance shows to showcase new talent and promote the art and value of dance to the public.

2026 Update: Dance Studio of Fresno received the Top Private Studio/Conservatory Award from Dance Teacher Magazine in 2017 and has earned the YAGP Outstanding School Award and Top Ensemble Awards multiple times. "Pete & Carmen's Salsa Dance Academy is co-owned by Pete Swingle and Carmen Perez-Ahmed, who bring their expertise and passion for salsa dancing to the studio. They have been dancing Salsa and other Latin club dances for over 30 years. The dance school has dedicated and experienced staff. They have a friendly and fun-filled environment. The dance school offers lessons for all ages and levels. Many of their students have been with them for 10 years or more. The dance school offers group and private classes to those who want to move gracefully on the dance floor. The dance school offers free trial lessons. The studio is equipped with excellent fans and A/C throughout. Their studio is also available for rental for special occasions.

DANCE STUDIO OF FRESNO REVIEWS

I highly recommend The Dance Studio of Fresno as an alumnus and a former dance parent. Some of my best childhood memories are with Sue Sampson-Dalena and the friends I made there. As a parent of a former dance team member, I still see first hand the love my daughter has for dance and the valuable life lessons she learned. Her time management skills and discipline in college and now working on Capitol Hill were strengthened at the studio. She is also able to take corrections from an employer and apply them quickly without taking it personally. The level of the teachers, choreography and guest teachers at the studio are the best in the valley. There’s not many places where you find a ballerina so well trained who can also tap & do hip hop with the best of them.

My daughter has attended The Dance Studio of Fresno for the past 11 years. She has enjoyed only the best of training in every genre including jazz, contemporary, lyrical, ballet and pointe, hip-hop and tap. Sue Sampson-Dalena and her staff provide top-notch instruction and have given my daughter the confidence and ability to be where she is today. Sue has very high expectations of her dancers and they are trained to meet and often times exceed challenges. I would highly recommend this Studio for anyone who wants to dance! There are classes available for all ages and abilities.

My little one is two and a half. She is in tap and ballet and couldn't be happier with Ms. Andrea! She is so wonderful and patient with the little ones.

If you love salsa bachata and more, don't miss the multiple dance opportunities at Studio 65! The local dance community frequents weekly and hosts events here on top of thr regular classes and Sunday night parties that go on. The owners are friendly and teach beginner through advanced classes. Come get your dance on.

Excellent place for learning Salsa, from beginner to advanced! It doesn't matter if you have "two left feet," they will teach you fundamentals that will last you a lifetime! The social dancing is fantastic as well... With two floors for dancing, there is plenty of space to practice and showcase your moves. Highly recommend.

Visiting from out of town .i did a drop in had the pleasure of meeting Pete what a great class had a great time look forward to another visit soon hope for a social night thanks Pete … Rodney.

CALIFORNIA ARTS ACADEMY REVIEWS

You. Want. Your. Kid. HERE. My kid does musical theatre here (there is NO better youth theatre instructor in the valley than Mr. Daniel), and I do tap with Ms. Malinda (also wonderful). I cannot say enough about the programs here, and our family has done performing arts around the valley, so I have much to which to compare. The classes are small enough with a good ratio of instructors to allow individualized attention. There are SO MANY classes to take (also offer art, jazz, ballet, aerial, Irish step, and more), you can try something new every semester. They allow drop-ins for those who want to just try it out - DO it! This is one of my favorite businesses in the valley. The ONLY negative about this place is the parking situation - the back lot is in pretty bad shape. But, I happily ignore this situation because we love CAA so much.

I was looking into different dance studios this year, because I'd been wanting to take Ballet for a while. It was difficult for me to find a studio that offered adult classes, though. So, I was really excited when I found out about C.A.A. The environment was very comfortable, warm, and inviting. After taking a free trial class, I immediately enrolled for the entire semester. I'm loving it so far; best investment ever, and young adults between the ages of 18-25 get a discount too.

Their plays are incredible, I didn’t even recognize my own friends until halfway through their act, and this was their first time acting. As a trans person, I cried a little bit bc I never thought I would see a nonbinary character like me on a stage, esp in Fresno. This place is awesome.
