The Northwest Recreation Center holds the distinction of being Cedar Rapids, IA's inaugural municipal building purposefully crafted for recreational programming. It was built to replace the Time Check Recreation Center and currently functions as a neighborhood center serving the northwest region. Additionally, the center plays a crucial role in providing a wide range of Parks and Recreation Department programs that cater to the entire city. The newly constructed building spans over 16,000 square feet and features a full-sized gymnasium, activity room, game room, and community room with dividers. The gymnasium can be divided into three separate volleyball courts or two small basketball half-courts. Meanwhile, the game room offers billiards, football, and table tennis, providing hours of entertainment for visitors. The community room can be divided into two separate rooms or used as one large meeting room, complete with tables, chairs, and a small catering kitchen. Your initial pass card is free, and you can relax and read a book in their lounge area. Northwest Recreation Center is an ideal spot to enjoy hours of entertainment, including access to the game room and gym when available, for sports like basketball and pickleball. Cedar Rapids is one of the best places to live, work, and play in the Midwest, offering a unique balance of big city amenities without the usual hassles and headaches associated with larger cities.

NORTHWEST RECREATION CENTER REVIEWS
Great place to play basketball. I reccomend calling in for more info on the open gym for adults or minors. You get a cool little card and every time you come in it's 2$. Better than paying a membership imo.
Clean place for kids with a gym and table games like pool and ping pong. Multipurpose rooms/facilities can also be rented.
Nice facility! It has Basketball Courts, pool table and ping pong table.
