“The Carnegie Center for Literacy and Learning is committed to enabling individuals to discover and express their voices through creative learning and literary arts. For over two decades, this center has stood as a prominent hub of scholarly engagement, vital in nurturing literary activities in Lexington, central Kentucky, and beyond. The Carnegie Center caters to writers of all levels, from beginners to advanced practitioners, offering diverse programs and workshops. They provide a welcoming space for individual writers to work and facilitate meetings for writing groups and book discussion groups. The tutoring center within the Carnegie Center opens academic opportunities for learners of all ages and skill levels. Their extensive offerings include seasonal classes covering writing, publishing, and languages, along with tutoring services for K-12 students and engaging youth and family programs and exhibits. The Carnegie Center provides affordable after-school tutoring, author readings, writing classes, and various educational opportunities for both children and adults. They welcome a haven for writers, readers, and individuals who enjoy reading, discussing, studying, playing, creating, and learning. Most of their classes and events are free, with scholarships available for low-cost registration fees. The program has successfully tutored over 1,000 students, offering virtual and in-person tutoring sessions, including School Year and Summer Session Tutoring.”
