We hired Carl for our wedding after he did a phenomenal job for my sister's wedding, which involved us flying him across the country since our wedding was in New Hampshire/Maine. This was one of our best decisions we made - we had already had firsthand experience with just how well he worked with people to get good photos, and we decided it was not worth the risk of hiring anybody else when we already liked him so much. His soft skills in speaking and working well with people truly translates into hard results with his photos. Furthermore, his actual technical ability to photograph is phenomenal and extremely consistent, better than any other photographer we interviewed or whose portfolio reviewed. He also did a phenomenal job after the wedding of fulfilling his editing deadlines, putting together our album, and communicating with the print shop. He is our official family photographer now - we could not imagine working with anybody else.
