THE GUENTHER HOUSE REVIEWS
This place is amazing! It has absolutely gorgeous outdoor seating & the food is wonderful. We had the breakfast tacos & pancakes - both of which were delicious! They even gave us real maple syrup which seems hard to come by in these times of maple flavored corn syrup! We also called in this morning to ask if they had cinnamon rolls & they did! It turned out to be like as big as my head (which is pretty big - my head that is) AND it actually tasted really good & was cooked through properly!! I’d definitely recommend this place!
The wait was very long-like an hour and a half and the hostess ditched halfway through so we were getting a little impatient. But it was worth the wait. The breakfast quiche was the best quiche I’ve had and very unique. The house is gorgeous and was a great pick-come to find out it’s a favorite local spot. I love how they have their recipes on their website too-I can’t wait to try them out! Must go if you’re in San Antonio.
Such a cool place! Lovely historic home and venue on the San Antonio river. Excellent for breakfast - food was delicious. OMG! The biscuits were huge! If you’re staying downtown, it’s about a mile walk via the river or a quick ride share to get there. We rode there and walked the river back - lovely, quiet walk in the mornings. Go when they open or you will be waiting a while - indoor and outdoor seating. Totally worth the wait, though!

WHISKEY CAKE KITCHEN AND BAR REVIEWS
Checked out this place on a Saturday and had a great meal. We enjoyed our food and the atmosphere was really nice. Warning: if your an adult and you order the chicken and fries it will come on a kids plate which was hilarious to see my Mom’s face as it was delivered to our table. Overall a great experience!
As a chef myself it is hard to eat out. You sit with your food and analyze what you'd do differently, but me and my wife continue to come back to Whiskey Cake. This last visit was for a Special Dinner with Whiskey Pairing. Just like every visit the staff was spectacular; friendly greeting as soon as you walk up to the host stand, servers are attentive and knowledgeable, and the food is outstanding.
The food here was really really good. I had fried green tomatoes and the mushroom burger which Tye (our server) did a wonderful job recommending. His recommendations were on point. Tye was very welcoming and kind; if you ever come here to eat, he is the server I would recommend.

CURED REVIEWS
Cured was an amazing experience. From the interior and exterior design, to the customer service and finally the food... Wow, it was the best experience. Not to mention Brian who serviced us the whole night, he was so knowledgeable about every thing as if he was the owner, designer and chef of the place. Definitely ask for him if you visit! The food is made with so much love and the flavors are out of this world, the mixtures of fragrances, herbs, sauces, meats and everything else makes each bite the best experience in food ever! Even the deserts were to die for!
Such a great concept! I dined alone and sat at the bar and the bartender was amazing! She made me 2 mock-tails since I'm laying off the booze. I couldn't do the charcuterie plates justice alone so I had the boudin empanadas and the wedge salad. Both dishes were so well done, not just pretty but the flavors were complex and well-executed. 100% would recommend the boudin empanadas to anyone who will listen!
What a great dinner experience. From the staff to the food and the interior. I would say the menu is like nothing I have ever seen elsewhere and the plate presentation is exquisite. The chef does a great job presenting the food with rich colors and textures. The staff is on point, so polite and helpful. The location is also great! In the pearl with so many things to do before you sit to eat at Cured. The interior was also beautiful, the aged brick on the walls was a sweet added feature.
