THE PIT AUTHENTIC BARBECUE REVIEWS
I love to eat and The Pit gives you good portions. Their baby back ribs were everything and more!! And I got some of their chopped pork which I hear is better than Bill's in Wilson. I will say that the brisket was just okay, but once you smothered it in their house made barbecue sauce it took that brisket up to a whole other level. The meatloaf on the other hand was something to be reckoned with. I need to go back for the meatloaf and thr ribs! The sides were delicious as well. I loved the collards and the Mac and Cheese disappeared from my plate within the first few minutes. I miss it already. Will certainly have to make a trip back soon.
We went to the Pit last weekend for my nieces Birthday party. After we ordered it took an hour and a half to get our food. Our appetizers were given to another table while we waited and it took 45 minutes for me to get my drink I ordered from the bar (it wasn’t even busy). The food looked good and was delicious once we received our order. I ordered the Wedding Salad with Grilled Chicken and my husband ordered the Pulled Pork (BBQ) sandwich.
Great food! Great service. The hostess was the sweetest thing ever. I was visiting town and she gave me recommendations on places to go next. I went during the day for lunch so the atmosphere was really nice. The food is really good my favorite thing was the sides!! I’ll be back because I want to try more.

OLE TIME BARBECUE REVIEWS
This is a true locals hang out with fantastic Eastern North Carolina pulled pork that was so good with their homemade sauce and two sides – loved the mac & cheese and the coleslaw. in addition to the fantastic barbecue, the real start of the show are the long narrow hush puppies that come steaming hot in a basket to your table. What a delicious treat. We were so full we couldn’t eat dessert so – we took home the banana pudding, which was a tasty treat.
The place was very friendly. Limited menu items made the ordering process easy. We had a chicken, a pork, and a rib. Our favorite was the rib because it had more flavor. The free appetizer (hush puppies, a corn bread and onion mixture) was also very good (ate too much). And NC State students also got a discount, what a deal.
Service great. Tasty hush puppies and gravy. Flavors ok, meats need more seasoning and too dry. Fried chicken tastes like old grease. Mac and cheese bland and cole slaw too sweet.

CITY BARBEQUE REVIEWS
Went to one of these in Clayton/Garner area years ago -- so we stopped here for a birthday celebration. Staff was so kind and helpful. The barbecue brisket was delicious and we bought many sides and desert. It was a wonderful experience. We have of course been back there. Last time we visited they gave us free desert. Wow! Highly recommended restaurant.
This brisket place is an absolute gem! Definitely one of the best in Raleigh. The brisket is incredibly tender, bursting with smoky flavor, and the sides are a perfect complement. The friendly staff and cozy ambiance make it a top-notch dining experience. A must-visit for barbecue lovers.
First time visiting and happy with the choice. I had the two sweet bbq sandwiches with Mac n cheese on the side. Great meat and taste. Loved all the different bbq sauces etc. Fun atmosphere and love their patio! Highly recommend this for an affordable bbq place.
