3 Best Barbecue Restaurants in Richmond, VA

Richmond is fortunate to have a number of really good BBQ restaurants. Buz & Ned's may be the Granddaddy of them all. Been there many times, to both of their locations. I prefer the West Broad St. location as it's got a better layout and more comfortable atmosphere for dining in. Of course the food is the main attraction and classic BBQ dishes and sides are all represented very well. The Baby Back ribs (pictured) are a standout favorite. Absolutely meaty and delicious. A half rack is a filling meal, especially if you get any sides. My guilty pleasure is getting the Beef Ribs, but be warned they are a bit expensive. One of the only places in town that offers those that I know of. Can't go wrong with any of the BBQ basics, pulled pork sandwich, cole slaw, baked beans, or potato salad. Buz & Ned's is a long time favorite place and I'm happy to see they have maintained good consistency of their food quality over the years.

I have been coming here since college and whenever I’m in town, and am always impressed! I miss the old location near the ballpark, but the food is just as good out here on W. Broad! My husband and I got sandwiches (pulled pork and brisket), loved the clearly homemade coleslaw, okra (a must for me), cobettes, onion rings, and cinnamon bourbon apples. Good thing we like each other and are good at sharing! Nice bartender, food came quickly, and was a great lunch stop on our road trip! Family friendly and probably good for groups.

Just had the brisket, Mac n cheese with the cucumber salad. Absolutely amazing and if you haven’t been, it’s a definite must try. Clean and welcoming atmosphere.

The most consistent BBQ from a franchise BBQ restaurant. I've eaten at 3 different locations and the food is always fantastic. Quality meats, sides and sauces. You can't go wrong eating at Mission BBQ.

The sausage jalapeño cheese sandwich combo with Mac and cheese and sweet tea did not disappoint my cravings!! Great taste full of flavors great service. I highly recommend!.
