THE ORIGINAL Q SHACK REVIEWS
Highly recommended! The food is exceptional yet affordably priced. We opted for the beef brisket plate, priced at approximately $17, which includes two sides and hush puppies. The meat was of excellent quality, and the sides—green salad, potato salad, coleslaw, and fries—were fresh and flavorful. Parking: Hard to find a parking slot, specially if you are planning for Friday and Saturday night.
I love this place, everything is good. The meats are always smoked well and moist. Ribs, Sausage and pork in the picture. Along with Fried Okra, beans and hush puppies.
“BBQ tender as a mother’s love!” These ribs were awesome! I will definitely be returning here next time I’m in the area.

City Barbeque is a trendy BBQ restaurant in Durham, NC. The restaurant combines the elements of a traditional BBQ establishment with the vibrant Tex-Mex culture, creating a unique dining experience. Their most award-winning menu is a culinary masterpiece, featuring their legendary brisket and ribs and an impressive selection of signature burgers, sandwiches, and other delectable dishes. CITY BARBEQUE REVIEWS
I am a student at UNC Chapel Hill, and when my mom visited town we ordered City BBQ. The meat was amazing their pulled pork was so juicy and tender! The swine wine sauce was the best barbecue sauce we had ever had. After eating our first order we ordered two more pounds of meat to have for the rest of the week! The chocolate cake was divine! Definitely will become a regular staple.
I go to City Barbecue in many cities. The Durham, NC is by far the Best thanks to Jeff. The Man Really knows his meat. I come here at least 10 times a year. Everything is consistent. The restaurant is clean employees are supernice. This should be a training restaurant.
Chicken was barely done slathered in sauce to cover up the pink insides. And I asked for sauce on the side btw.

PICNIC REVIEWS
Great barbecue. I have not experienced North Carolina barbecue, but have had barbecue in several other states. I had the Gumbo, as recommended, and it was delicious! I also got a side of greens, smoked pork, hush puppies, and slaw. All of it was great with the slight exception of the smoked pork, which had a great flavor, but a tad dry. A little vinegar barbecue sauce and it was great.
Excellent BBQ with good portion sizes. Two of us shared everything shown here, and it was plenty of food. I liked the unique approach to the sauce so much I took a bottle home (and regret not picking up a second or third bottle!).
It's a really cool BBQ and seafood restraunt. You order at the counter and they bring the food to you. Indoor and outdoor seating available. The service was great! There are lots of entree options from BBQ to seafood . Seafood was very fresh. There are a ton of great sides for a Vegastable plate as well. Will definitely be back to try some other options.
