Cathedral of Christ the King in Atlanta, Georgia, is the mother church for the one million members of the Catholic Archdiocese of Atlanta. Cathedral of Christ the King was constructed in 1936. The church has a Gothic-style building, a symbol of the medieval church designed by Henry D. Dagit's Philadelphia-based organization. Indiana Silestone was used in the building, as well as Stone Mountain granite and Georgia marble. Their Cathedral Group comprises well over 5,700 registered families who are actively engaged with the cathedral's over 100 ministries of activity. Cathedral of Christ the King is an active parish of over 5,300 families with 500 children and a school of faith of more than 700 registered children. Cathedral of Christ the King was used for mass until November 1939. Ministry offers instruction for their parish children and youth to develop a lifetime commitment to following Jesus christ's teachings.

No matter one's background, personal history, age, ethnicity, culture, marital status, self-image, esteem, or past or present religious affiliation, you are invited to be a part of their warm, friendly and diverse congregation. The church was established in 1880. The church's outside perspective is repeated rounded arches, a traditional Romanesque style hallmark. The design of rounded arches is replicated throughout the entire interior of the church. The Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus faith is a warm, friendly, and diverse congregation that provides its growing community with outreach and various ministry services. Free parking is available for all weekend Masses with a validated ticket.
