Specialty:
“Holy Spirit Catholic Church was originally named Holy Ghost Church and was founded by Bishop Eugene O’Connell of Grass Valley, assisted by Fr. Montgomery and Fr. Governo. The church features a 15-foot wide mosaic mural behind the Altar of Repose, depicting people, young and old, offering gifts to Christ. The mosaic was designed and installed by Isabel and Edith Piscek. The church's south bell tower contains a large bell forged in Portugal. This sacred haven survived the 1919 fire and was relocated to the new church bell tower. The church's north bell tower contains a large speaker that tolls the Angelus and other electronic and taped music. The electronic bell system through the Schulmerich Carillon Company was installed in 1978. Holy Spirit Catholic Church also ensures various facilities such as wheelchair-accessible parking and restrooms for more comfort.”
