Saint Anthony Catholic Church is one of the oldest parishes in the area. The church is considered the Mother Church of Long Beach. Established as the first Roman Catholic Parish in 1902, the church has grown from 18,000 to 55,000 people by 1920. The church boasts stunning architecture, with exquisite paintings and unique golden carvings adorning the altar. Saint Anthony Church offers community baptisms throughout the year, which are usually scheduled at 10 am on Saturdays. Additionally, they offer a free 10-week program to help improve one's faith and create a life of prayer. Masses are conducted in both English and Spanish. Saint Anthony Church also includes Saint Anthony Elementary School and Saint Anthony High School, providing education for children from preschool through twelfth grade while instilling values of faith, community, and academic excellence.
