Specialty:
“Sacred Heart Cathedral is guided by God’s Word in the scriptures and encounters Christ through the sacraments of the Catholic Church. The building served as the religious center for the new Diocese for nearly seven decades. The original church building, later transformed into Sacred Heart School, opened in 1911 on the south side of Flower City Park. This is an urban Roman Catholic parish that worships and gathers at the Sacred Heart Cathedral in the Diocese of Rochester. By 1931, the impressive neo-Gothic structure had become one of the largest parishes in Rochester, with nearly 1,200 families and 750 children in the school. Sacred Heart Cathedral puts on a wonderful retreat day full of engaging speakers and prayerful experiences. The parish ensures a wheelchair-accessible entrance and restroom facility for visitors' comfort.”
