“St Maria Goretti Catholic Church is one of the famous churches in Arlington. The church was built in 1941 and is the Mother Parish for the city of Arlington. The workshop prepares youth ages 13-18 who wish to volunteer with their peers and with children. All volunteers in the liturgical ministry have to be registered Catholics and in good standing with the church. St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church has expanded to over 1,200 members, which spurred the building of a new 850-seat church designed by architect Preston Green. Confirmation, along with Baptism and Eucharist, is one of three sacraments of initiation. St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church serves in hospitals, nursing homes, and the army, cooking and distributing food. St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church council focuses on the parish's current needs and future direction through strategic planning, the promotion and practice of stewardship, and the collection of parishioner feedback.
