3 Best Dance Schools in Spokane, WA

My daughter spent the last two years at the preschool and we couldn't have been happier. I'll start by saying it's super clean, and they even have the kids sanitize their hands on the way in. We were blown away by how much effort they put into themes/decorations/activities/crafts, we’d never seen anything like it, and this was the 4th preschool our family has attended over the past 6 years, so we have plenty to compare it to. The props they brought it made us wonder if they had a whole storage unit dedicated to the school, they really went all out. It was obvious how much effort was put in by the teachers. They even sent home a scrapbook style photo keepsake at the end of the year. Though this was my daughter's first school experience, and her first time being away from me, she never once showed any anxiety which told she was comfortable and well taken care of. They have a large one way mirror and welcome parents to stay and watch as long as they'd like. And for the best part, they get to have regular dance parties complete with disco lights and spend plenty of time playing games, riding scooters and moving their bodies in the dance studios. We were a bit hesitant to check out the school because they are a "performing arts preschool,” but other than putting on two amazingly adorable shows for the parents each year, during preschool hours, it didn’t seem to be more of a performing arts school than the others we’ve attended. I can't say enough good things about this place. I'm so glad I have one more little so we don't have to say goodbye just yet.

My sisters went to this dance studio when they were kids, and now our family continues the tradition as my two daughters take classes here. My 8 year old loves it, and has even asked to go hang out at the Dance Center when she doesn't have classes, and my 4 year old has so much fun in class. I feel like the staff truly cares about my kids, and wants to see them do the best they can. We had tried several different studios before we moved here, and never did my daughter love dance as much until The Dance Center of Spokane.

Our family had an amazing experience at this preschool. I drove across town for 2 years (my daughter was in the 3 yo and the 4 yo programs) and did so happily because of the amazing environment they created for my child. I can’t recommend it enough.

My daughter has danced at Artistry in Motion for 8 years and found a passion for dance unlike anything else in her life! She takes classes across all genres and is also on the competition team. Without a doubt, AIM is her family and her home away from home. Not only is the instruction incredible, but the supportive environment is unmatched. There is no way I can put into words the sense of friendship, support, and teamwork that has been fostered, but if you watch them dance together it is evident. The director, Tamara Zink, and the other instructors not only teach beautiful technique, they also teach life lessons that will translate well beyond dance in all the years to come. Thank you AIM for helping my daughter develop into a confident dancer, giving her endless opportunities for personal growth, and showing her that her dream of dancing beyond high school is a possibility. Forever grateful to the AIM family… the dancers, the parents, the instructors, and Ms. Tamara.

We first found AIM when Tamara was recommended to us as the best option in the area for ballet lessons for my daughter, and this has proven to have been great guidance. When Covid hit, she was offering a full schedule online and my daughter’s studio was not, so she started classes there full time, thru Zoom. My daughter and I both recognized that the instruction at AIM was far superior to what she had previously, and my daughter has loved the opportunity to take classes in areas like musical theater and acting, that she did not have before. AIM has a wonderful culture where my daughter feels safe and supported, by both the faculty and her fellow students. Each student is recognized for their unique talents and has an opportunity to shine. We will continue to make the longer drive, because AIM’s environment and instruction is absolutely worth it.

We have been a part of AIM since the beginning and love Tamara and her faculty at the studio. There are many great children and families that call AIM home and we're so happy that their children are part of that wonderful environment. It's great to watch all the kids improve by leaps and bounds each year in their different styles of dance. Beyond dance, Tamara and her team provide a caring and nurturing environment where kids can grow and thrive. Tamara has been a great mentor and positive influence in their kids lives!
