James P. Alder has served as a Board member and the President of the Board of Directors for the Alzheimer’s Association Utah Chapter, where he also assisted as that organization’s legal counsel. He completed a Bachelor of Arts at Utah State University, Juris Doctor at Brigham Young University, J. Reuben Clark Law School and Master of Laws at the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law. James advises people about planning to avoid the need for guardianship through attorney powers, incapacity trustee designations under revocable living trusts, and individual needs trusts for developmentally disabled children and adults. He strives to be a resource and guide for his clients in minimizing those influences that often lead to the disruption and loss of those valued connections. He graduated with his J.D. degree from the University of Utah College of Law and an LL.M degree in Tax Law from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. He has helped hundreds of clients obtain medicaid and other assistance to help pay for nursing home care for a spouse or parent. Calvin handles a variety of new legal matters.
