3 Best French Restaurants in Baltimore, MD

I love classic french cuisine so trying this local bistro in historic Mount Vernon was definitely on the list. We made reservations using Resy (which is a bonus for AMEX holders who are eligible for statement credits). We parked on the street in front of the restaurant which is available after 6pm. We were seated immediately. There are two bars, which is convenient if that suits you. We sat upstairs which is a cozy area. Our server was also the bartender and I must say there was no break or delay in service. Everything was excellent. We started with bread service, which is not complimentary but is inexpensive. For the appetizer we ordered Escargot, which is my favorite so I am a hard critic. When it arrived I didn’t think I was going to like it because it was not served tradition, in the shell, and there was no garlic butter. Instead it was served on crostinis in a beautiful mushroom demi glaze. It was delicious! As entrees we had the Steak Frites and Duck Confit. Cooked to perfection! For dessert, we took the mousse and cheesecake to go and again, delicious. We will be returning very soon. I highly recommend.

Fantastic food, great atmosphere, excellent food. Had a good burger. But the French onion soup was so good it was the best. The steak tartare was amazing - but ask for more crostini when you order. Excellent wine list and reasonable prices. Will 100% be back.

What a wonderful place to have brunch! Can't believe I've forgotten to review until now. The staff working Sundays has been consistent for several years and is always attentive, kind, and hospitable.

Best dining in Baltimore, MD. What an incredible experience at the Bistro du Village! The food was succulent and the service excellent. We were a party of four and we started with only two "soupes de poisson" enjoying them between couples with some french bread. Then we shifted to the Chef's crafted entrees: "Entrecote Rib Eye", "Pave de Saumon", "Truite Meuniere", and finally "Merguez Frites" with an additional order of frites (see pictures). All were accompanied by Orangina sodas and perrier water. The food was exceptionally delicious to a point where we cleaned the plates (see pictures). We finally ended our meal with a couple of shared crepes a la nutella et bananes . Thank you Mustapha for your generosity and lovely atmosphere.

Very enjoyable and to my surprise not crowded and we still got our food quickly.All in all a very good first French dinner my wife and I had.

Tried shrimp and scallops savoury crepe and dessert nuttela strawberries and banana crepe. Both were excellent - homemade!
