3 Best French Restaurants in Jackson, MS

The food was great. Service was awkward. We had one waitress introduce herself. We asked her to give us a moment with the menus. Then we had another waitress introduce herself. Awkward! We didn't know what was going on, then the 2 waitresses were talking once the first realized she was taking her table. Talk about an uncomfortable situation, lol. Restaurant was nice. Was surprised that there was food on the floor beside our chairs when we were seated. Would have thought they would cleaned from last tables. Wine selection was good. Would have liked to see a wider selection of wine by the glass. Once waitress situation was resolved, everything went great.

My husband and I had a romantic dinner at Anjou a few weeks ago. We chose to sit at a booth in the bar which is typical for us. It was lively but not over crowded and we felt cocooned in our corner booth. It was nice to be able to view the other patrons without really being noticed. The service was on par, our waiter was efficient and attentive. But the star of this experience was the food. I had the filet with compound butter, medium rare, with asparagus and the dauphinois potatoes. My steak had a wonderfully charred crust and was cooked to perfection. My husband had the lamb chops mid rare with roasted potatoes and vegetables. We were absolutely satiated. A delightful experience.

If you haven’t been, this place is a gem. The food is great and the mimosa flight is the best. I will definitely be back.

Maggie and team gave us great service a couple of weeks ago when our work team dinner went from 6to 7 people. They didn’t miss a beat accommodating the extra person and were so patient with our picky group. Everyone enjoyed their meal and raved about the beautiful space and kind service. My meal was delicious and don’t skip dessert- everything was lovely!

Elvie's is a great hidden gem in the fact that I feel it is a very much unknown restaurant in the Jackson area. I find it to be a great restaurant that serves mid range to high end fare at prices that are more midrange cost. Their breakfast food will definitely catch your nose and your mouth and drag you right in. They also have great lunch options also. The service is also very good and was adequately fast. The atmosphere is very nice also. Definitely go in and check them out if you have a chance.

Cute eclectic bistro with attention to ALL the details. Stopped for brunch on our way through Jackson and will gladly make a detour to come again. The French omelette with oysters was divine. Perfectly executed with a gorgeous, fresh hollandaise. The pork belly in the Eggs Cochon was very, very good, though the dish was sweeter than I expected. Cocktails were well-made and served timely. The Bloody Mary was excellent!
