ELIZABETH RIVER TRAIL
Since 1912
“Elizabeth River Trail restores some of the natural beauty of Elizabeth's urban waters, essential to the city's growth. This is 11.9 miles that run through Essex and Union counties. The trail is generally considered an easy trail route. During the trail, you can see the beauty of the river. The trail celebrates Elizabeth's heritage by displaying artwork by local artists along its route. The trail is a pedestrian-only area with several recreational and educational activities. The existing trail stretches along the river from South Broad Street across from the Elizabeth Public Library to Bridge Street. This initial section of a larger pathway will extend to the Arthur Kill Bridge and into midtown.”
