Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve Trail is a 1,300-acre coastal estuary situated in Huntington Beach, CA's downtown. At Bolsa Chica, more than 200 avian species have been identified, and the reserve is highly popular among birders and photographers. It provides excellent opportunities for birdwatching and nature viewing and offers a diverse collection of recreational activities. The Interpretive Center offers information and trail maps and a few displays on flora and fauna of the area.

Shipley Nature Center is an 18-acre fenced nature preserve owned by the City of Huntington Beach. The stream provides a powerful lure for migrating and resident birds, and the center is a 1,500 sq. Ft. Interpretive Building with exhibits on resident's wildlife and ecology. They have a butterfly garden, which is fantastic during the spring, and the garden's blooming flowers are so vibrant and attractive. The park has various gardens and paths for various types of plants, flowers, and birds. Shipley Nature Center warmly offers free admission options for its guests.
