Newland House Museum was built in 1898 for settlers William and Mary Newland of Huntington Beach and their ten children. The house is in a Midwestern adaptation of the Queen Anne architectural style. The house is one of 123 historic sites and districts on the National Register of Historic Places in Orange County, California. The house stretched from Beach Boulevard to Magnolia and from Yorktown south to Atlanta for a total of 500 acres, in which they planted sugar beets, lima beans, celery, and later chili peppers. Newland House Museum is open to the public appreciation of the efforts of the City of Huntington Beach and the Huntington Beach Historical Society.

Huntington Beach Central Library is a 350-acre park that features a theater, spacious reading areas, and indoor fountains surrounded by a spiral ramp. The library has seven meeting rooms and a 300-seat theater for rental. The library's building was designed by the architectural firm of Richard & Dion Neutra. The library was expanded to enclose an outdoor spiral ramp and fountain area. The new wing opened in 1994 along with a new Children’s area with its story time theater. The library is home to the Windows Art Gallery, which has paintings by local artists. Huntington Beach Central Library has more than 18,000 genealogical books maintained by the Orange County Genealogical Society. The library has plenty of free parking for your convenience.
