“Glenn Sebastian Nature Trail winds through 95 acres of native pine and oak forests. Dr. Glenn Sebastian, a USA faculty member who taught geography and chaired the Department of Earth Sciences, inspired the trail's name. The total length of the trail is 2.0 miles, and the elevation gain of the trail is 104 feet. This is a loop-type trail, which is generally considered an easy trail route. The time taken to complete the total trail is approximately 41 minutes. Visitors can see an elegant view of different varieties of plants and wildlife. Glenn Sebastian Nature Trail is a pleasant place for experiencing great hiking, walking, and mountain biking. Dogs are allowed on a leash on the trail.”

“Historic Blakeley State Park covers approximately 2,000 acres and has a total trail length of 2.5 miles. The elevation gain of the trail is 147 feet, and it is a loop-type trail. It takes approximately 52 minutes to complete the trail. The park has a diverse range of trails to hike and plenty of fascinating historical areas to explore, which include Alabama's most significant Civil War battle sites. Historic Blakeley State Park also provides rental facilities for a variety of special events. This ideal haven is open 365 days per year and offers free admission for kids under six. I really enjoyed this nature trail. I'm so glad its here. It's educational, fun, peaceful, interesting. The trails are easy to follow and there are lots of trail markers so you can make sure you are still on the right path. Several hikers had their dogs so I would say it appears dog friendly. Keep in mind, it's a nature hike and even on the easiest trail you will still be hiking on some uneven ground, you have to be able to grip the ground because there are some slants and dips, so be prepared and be careful with your step. Overall it was fun. Exercising made fun.

This place is beautiful! Can’t wait to see it in the springtime. Well marked trails and not crowded. The pond with the geese and ducks was peaceful to spend some time at. Grateful to have found this place!

Love this place, nice trail to walk and the boardwalk is pretty nice at the end, especially watching the sunset.

HISTORIC BLAKELEY STATE PARK REVIEWS

It's such a lovely state park with so much history! It is very well maintained and I can't wait to camp here! The walking trails are very nicely marked to let you know if they are hiker/bike/horse safe. The staff was very friendly and helpful and also provided us with a map. I have more trips planned and can't wait to come back!

Wonderful spot. We only spent one night, but enjoyed it very much. Very quiet with friendly respectful guests. We mostly saw tent campers. We were in a class B camper van. Looks of thick woods. The terrific lady that came out to welcome us at the entrance really knew her stuff and was so friendly. Make reservations on line.

Beautiful park with TONS of history. Trails throughout the park with lots of bike trails, horse trails and walking trails. The view of the sunset near the kayak launch is absolutely beautiful. Staff is also very friendly and campsites are well kept with clean bathrooms and showers on site. Well worth the visit!

VILLAGE POINT PARK PRESERVE REVIEWS

What a wonderful park along the Mobile Bay in Daphne, Al. This was our first time in Daphne and it is wonderful. This park is a treasure. There are several paths to walk. Some of the paths are boardwalks. There are piers jetting out into the bay. This is just an excellent city park that borders the Mobile Bay.

We enjoyed our bike ride here. Trail leads back to Jackson Oak, old French/American family cemetery, boardwalks where we saw alligators, and also a beach and pier where we saw lots of kite surfers with downtown the Mobile skyline view in the distance.

One word to describe this place would be breathtaking. I am a pure nature lover, I love to go on hikes to capture the beauty of nature. This place… was definitely not lacking, whatsoever. Truly such a peaceful and beautiful environment.
