“Ruffner Mountain is a popular destination offering well-maintained trails in Birmingham, AL. This preserve spans 1,038 acres and is a privately owned metropolitan wildlife park in the heart of Birmingham. The preserve provides educational programs for children and adults and includes a rehabilitation center for wildlife. Hikers can enjoy the 14 miles of trails, ranging from easy to difficult, which branch and loop all over the mountain at various difficulty levels. The trails are open to the public from morning to evening.
