Great green space in downtown Birmingham! It really helped jump start much needed revitalization downtown. The park is several blocks long with impressive topography. There are some small hills to add interest but most is flat if that is needed for your walk/run. If you are looking for a challenge, head over to the rolling steep hill. There are plenty of pavement paths but tons of green space for exercise, playing or just lounging. I like that they added areas of water too.

Please visit and reflect on the recent history of this city, state, and region. This park is set in the heart of the civil rights district, at the location of the Children's March (see Teaching Tolerance documentary). Across the street, you can see the 16th Street Baptist Church, civil rights institute, a couple black owned cafe's.
