“Tower Bridge was completed in 1935 and is a vertical lift bridge built across the Sacramento River, recognized as a famous landmark. The bridge was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1980, after being designated a historic landmark in 1951. The bridge has also been known as the M Street Bridge. The bridge links West Sacramento in Yolo County to the east. The California Department of Transportation maintains the Tower Bridge. The bridge reflects a rare use of Streamlined Moderne architectural style in a lift bridge, making it an excellent social and architectural expression. The bridge provides access to the Tower Bridge Gateway by car, bus, bike, and on foot.”

OLD SACRAMENTO WATERFRONT DISTRICT REVIEWS

One of the great walking spot for friends and families. There are plenty of parking available on the road side and nearby parking garages with almost good hourly rates. Check rates before you park. Many food options are available. It has antique shops, restaurants board walk and hotels near by river.

This was are 1st time visiting this city. It reminded us of walking through Venice Beach boardwalk in so cal but A LOT more elegant. Lots of bars food and shopping. I am guessing you can come to this place and dozens of times and you can still find something new to see and explore.

Not all museums are connected to the same ticket so be aware to purchase separate tickets. But most definitely worthwhile. We stayed two days and did not finish all museums and shops. Many small towns survived off of the sacramento railway and many still do.

CALIFORNIA STATE CAPITOL MUSEUM REVIEWS

This museum was very nicely set up. They have lots of cool artifacts and Interactive activities for both children and adults alike. Not to mention very informative. Being from the East Coast, I was unaware of how many prominent figures are from California. I truly enjoyed myself and highly recommend and wants to come here and learn about the history of California.

I lived in California for most of my life and never visited my state Capitol until now that I left the state. The architectural design is amazing for the time it was built. I was not able to see the whole thing since my time ran out. Next time when I come back I'll visit again.

A nice building, very busy while in session. Some key points of interest. There are a few museums in the building. A great statue of Ronald Reagan, "hidden" in the basement floor. This should be on the main floor. We'll I guess he wanna Democrat, so there you go.

TOWER BRIDGE REVIEWS

A must-visit spot! The historic Tower Bridge is truly impressive and full of character. It's a great place to take photos—plenty of scenic angles with the bridge and surrounding views. The river adds to the charm, offering a peaceful and picturesque backdrop. We even spotted a seal swimming near the edge, which was such a cool surprise! Whether you're into history, photography, or just want a relaxing stroll by the water, this place has something for everyone. It’s a beautiful blend of architecture and nature. Definitely worth the stop if you're in the area.

24 states have vertical-lift bridges and California is one of them, having a total of 6. Proud to say that Sacramento’s Tower Bridge is one of them. Now that the benevolent sun is out, you can see the engineered masterpiece at work while the boats pass through it. Watching the fireworks show from here is magical. Walking through it gives a sense of being part of something bigger than yourself. Whether one sees this bridge by air, water, car or foot, this golden historical landmark is a must see! There are no words.

I have visited this tower bridge last weekend after sunset. There are plenty of places to park near by, the easiest one to spot is the public parking towards the east side of the bridge. I personally prefer parking near the destination called Historic Lamp Post. Parking on weekends is free and we can get direct access to the riverfront.
