Came to see this memorial while we were in Aurora. My husband has a friend he served with on the wall here. Was a very beautiful and simple display to pay respect and to honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. As a veteran it always hits harder to see these memorials but it's also nice to know those who lost their lives are not forgotten.
The memorial is on Telluride just north of 6th ave. I rode by on my way to the Highline Canal Trail. They were still working on the memorial but what is completed is very nice. There is plenty of parking an some covered tables near the south end. Nice spot for a break while on a bike ride.
Lighting event is incredible. Over 6200 candles. Ambassador hosted our Girl Scout Troop through and served apple cider afterwards. Very beautiful display of lights, and the actual memorial is elegant.
