Aurora History Museum was founded in 1979 and is a community-based cultural center that showcases changing history. The museum offers exhibitions and activities for all ages with local and national history, arts, and culture. The museum features over 100 historical images along with a diverse collection of artifacts. Aurora History Museum houses a restored 1913 Trolley Trailer 610, which once ran along Colfax Avenue. There are also two changing display galleries in the museum. The museum has a comprehensive historical archive of images, documents, and research materials available on request. The historical research library and archive are available by appointment. Programs, tours, workshops, teas, lectures, and family events are offered for all ages.

Aurora Reservoir spans over 800 acres of surface water within a 30,000-acre open space. A variety of activities are available at the reservoir, and everyone is welcome to enjoy the area. The park is open throughout the year and supports special occasions such as family reunions, birthday celebrations, or even business outings. Visitors can enjoy year-round activities such as fishing, kayaking, boating, swimming, and paddleboarding. There are several shelters available that can accommodate 20 to 300 people. Walk or ride your bike along the 8-mile concrete multi-use trail surrounding the reservoir. Lifeguards are on duty, and public restrooms are available. The reservoir also features a playground and many places with BBQs and shaded tables.
