"Juan in A Million provides breakfast tacos and traditional dishes in a basic setting with an outdoor patio. The restaurant is opened by two school teachers, Juan and Myrna Meza. Juan and Myrna Meza took a chance on their dream and opened Juan in a Million in July 1980 in East Austin. The restaurant features homemade recipes and welcomes every guest like family. Juan in A Million offers classic dishes like enchiladas, menudo, and huevos rancheros, made with Abuelita in mind, and serves breakfast all day. Enjoy their customer favorites, including the Migas plate, Con Queso Breakfast, and the famous Don Juan Taco, which is a hearty combination of bacon, potatoes, eggs, and cheese piled high on a warm tortilla. 2026 Update: Their menu focuses on Mexican breakfast and lunch items. Gift card options are offered in digital format or for store pickup based on the ordering method. "Matt’s El Rancho is a family-owned and operated restaurant run by Matt and Janie’s daughters Gloria, Cecilia, and Cathy, and their daughter-in-law Estella. They prepare everything from scratch, including fresh corn tortillas and chips made daily in their in-house tortilla factory using non-GMO corn. Their famous margaritas are crafted with fresh-squeezed lime juice. Located in South Lamar, Matt’s El Rancho can accommodate up to 500 guests and offers buffet service along with full bar catering for cocktail receptions, weddings, corporate events, luncheons, and dinner parties. The restaurant also features happy hour specials.

JUAN IN A MILLION REVIEWS

Absolutely phenomenal breakfast tacos. Went on Saturday and it was very busy. Usually there is a wait but we got lucky and got a nice booth. Don juan taco is massive and honestly the best out of the five I got. Definitely would recommend if there is no wait. If there is a long line like it was we left, might go somewhere else. They also have bottled beer which is nice.

Stopped in for a quick bite to eat on my way to the office. I left stuffed after trying to finish all of the Don Juan Grande Breakfast Taco. Some days you finish the taco some days the taco finishes you. Perfect blend of egg bacon and cheese. Coffee is pretty good and the service is friendly and quick. The house hotsauce is amazing.

One of the best breakfast in town! Everything here is really good and it is reasonably priced!! Enchiladas, steak, breakfast burritos were all good! Lee said the beans are the best that he has ever had.

Just wow. One of THE BEST AL Pastor chichita tacos I have ever had!! Margaritas on point. Attentive and hard-working bartender!! Salsas are so flavorful and have a little heat!! Fajitas and Al Carbon were so tender!! IMO, the only minor minus was the rice, seemed to lack seasoning. VERY generous portions!! A beautiful hidden gem!! FRIENDLY STAFF and welcoming vibe!!.

At 1pm on a busy Saturday afternoon in May they sat our party of ten in less than 10 minutes. Service was quick and cordial. Best fish tacos I have ever eaten. Everyone in our party enjoyed what they ordered. Steak taco salad is recommended. Dolce leches cake was a fantastic finish. Chris was great.

Really great food and selection. Menu had tons of options and everyone in my large party liked what they ordered. Vibe was also really nice!.

MATTS EL RANCHO REVIEWS

Fun and friendly environment that is welcoming. Has a large parking lot that is surprisingly very full. They’re known for their brunch options and this place does not disappoint. They do have large portions as well, so come here with an empty stomach. There’s plenty of seating but reservations are highly recommended. The restaurant is large to accommodate large groups as well. Food is tasty and drinks are good too, even their margaritas are great for brunch. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area!

I had never had the official “Tex-Mex” cuisine. It was an amazing first experience. The Quail appetizer comes on a sizzling cast iron pan. Charming. The Chile Rellano with cream sauce is beautifully complex in flavor. Salsa is fantastic, with medium heat. Overall, I think they would deliver on any Entree! There is at least a 1/2 acre of free parking!.

My family brought me here while visiting Austin. The food was really good. The atmosphere was great and the service was also great. We didn't have to wait long to be seated.
