Mi Nidito was opened by Ernesto and Alicia Lopez on the corner of historic South Tucson. The restaurant is now maintained by Ernest Lopez Jr. and his wife Yolanda; Sons Jimmy and Ernie III help with to run this family business. The trademark name Mi Nidito indicates "My Little Nest" because of its initially small size. The restaurant indoor has accommodated 35 additional seats. Hispanic Magazine has determined it as one of the nation's best Hispanic restaurants, and it has won multiple awards in history.
