Absolutely amazing! I cannot say enough about every aspect of their operation, from the kind knowledgable staff to the classes and overall information they provided. My wife really wanted a different birthing experience as we originally started off at a OBGYN office and were not happy with the basic care provided. Many times people get very nervous with using a birthing center over a hospital but after your first visit with them this will all go out the door. They provide you with so much more information and care than other provider’s and truly make it a whole new level of experience. They go far beyond the basic care a typical provider gives. They focus on the mothers overall health (since it greatly effects the baby), from their diet, how much they are being active, how much knowledge they have, and give you so many resources/exercises to prepare your body for the process. Versus a normal practice where they just give you basic care and handle things as they come up at birth vs being preventive from the start. This experience was everything my wife wanted and more. Being first time parents we were very nervous coming into the process but are beyond ecstatic with the experience and the amazing staff at this center. If your plan is to have a natural birth then this is undoubtedly the place for you.
I gave birth there a week ago and can only recommend! I moved to Miami at 34 weeks and thank God I found the MMC. On my first visit, Carol took nearly two hours with me, answering all my questions and making sure I was healthy to birth my baby there (take your iron!). I took Dahlia’s birth class to prepare and it was amazing, there were so many useful informations! I wrote everything down and still look at the notes today. For my birth, Tania and Dahlia were both a blessing; it was my first birth and I felt supported when I needed it (and pushed to my limits). I gave birth in the green room in the bathtub. Active labour was super fast, less than 6 hours (prior to birth I walked an hour daily, did Dahlias exercises, ate dates, took evening primrose oil etc). I felt so prepared for the birth! Postpartum, I was in the best hands possible. I got sick after a couple days and had to go to the ER. I saw two doctors who wanted to pump me with different strong antibiotics without being diagnosed with anything!! Thank god I came back to MMC and Carol and Dahlia took care of me; I already feel so much better. Their experience and compassion cannot be found in a hospital. I really recommen

I had two perfect water births at home with Sheila and her midwives at what doctors would call “advanced maternal age.” She is 100% competent, capable, reassuring and supportive of mom and baby from the first consultation to well beyond the birth. My first child was born in a Miami hospital, which was a very traumatic experience. All of my choices and instincts were stripped from me there. Sheila restored all of that. I will be always grateful to her and proud that I didn’t let fear grip me regarding what some people said about their perceived danger of home births. Giving birth with Sheila was safer, healthier and more natural for both me and my babies compared to my hospital birth. I suffered post-partum depression for years after the hospital. None of that with Sheila. She spent at least an hour per visit with me, as opposed to 5 minutes with the OB. And the many house calls after the home birth! She’s just amazing.
