3 Best Music Schools in Denver, CO

My son has been a student here for more than 5 years and my daughter for 2+ years. We've had the opportunity to work with a variety of instructors and directors and all have been fantastic. The school is very well-run and helps students reach levels beyond what I've seen in other programs. The owner (Jim Johnson) and many of the instructors/directors, are well-connected to the Denver music scene and many play in their own bands. They provide real-world experience in a "clean" age-appropriate environment. It's been awesome to see how the students grow and advance their skills each year and get to know each other (& it's a little sad to see when the older ones age out!). The students are well-prepared for their seasonal shows and are a lot of fun to watch. They play seasonal shows in well-known venues around Denver such as The Soiled Dove Underground, Oriental Theater & Stoney's Bar & Grill. Ambitious, talented students can audition for the advanced House Band, which is even more fun as they get to play in venues such as Red Rocks Amphitheater and go on multi-day tours.

My kiddo loves all the programs they have done at School of Rock, from bass lessons to performance group to house band. They've grown so much in understanding of how a song is put together as well as in music theory! We couldn't be happier with the family-like atmosphere cultivated at the Denver School of Rock.

Agustin is an excellent music teacher who brings an incredible amount of positivity and enthusiasm to each lesson. My 10 year old daughter consistently looks forward to her time with him and leaves every session not only having learned a lot, but genuinely enjoys the process. He makes learning guitar engaging, effective, and fun. Agustin’s music lessons are truly a highlight of her week. Even when she is tired after a long day, she leaves her lesson so energized and grateful to have the opportunity to learn from him. I highly recommend Agustin to anyone seeking a skilled and inspiring music teacher.

My daughter has been taking guitar lessons with Agustin for just over a year and it has been so great! He makes the lessons fun and has so much patience teaching her. She really enjoys going to her weekly lesson and has made a ton of progress. The communication with Pirisen has always been great as well.

I really enjoy Agustin! He has taught me so much things that I never knew how to do. He teaches me very well and explains everything well so I can understand it. He is a very great teacher and helps me learn new things every class.
