"Dr. Joseph L. Koen is a board-certified neurosurgeon at Neurosurgical Specialists, Inc. He finished his doctorate in medicine at The Ohio State University. He did his residency and internship at Duke University Medical Center, Durham, North Carolina. Dr. Joseph L. Koen specializes in brain tumors, both benign and malignant. He also completed advanced training in skull-base approaches and CyberKnife and Varian True Beam stereotactic radiosurgery. Dr. Joseph was the first to use implanted chemotherapy for treating malignant brain tumors. He has also developed a frameless, minimally invasive stereotactic biopsy system for brain tumors and other lesions. Dr. Joseph L. Koen has a special interest and expertise in cerebrovascular surgery, including arteriovenous malformations, intracranial aneurysms, cavernous malformations, and dural arteriovenous fistulae. He specializes in surgical treatments for trigeminal neuralgia, including microvascular decompression, stereotactic radiosurgery, and percutaneous procedures. Dr. Joseph L. Dr Koen is the best surgeon ever. He has treated so many in my family as well as myself. Have had 2 surgeries possibly looking at a third and has kept me upright and walking. I have disc degenerative disease. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is having any neurological issues or spine issues. Thank you Dr. Koen!

Dr. Koen is one of the most amazing physicians I have ever met. He listens to you! He takes your concerns into consideration. He is there for you when you need him. His bedside manner is amazing. If I could refer everyone to him for everything, I would!

Dr. Koen gave us 3 extra years w/ our dad. He was very thorough in all his explanations both before & after surgery. His care was 5*. We will always be grateful! ( removed a malignant brain tumor).

Dr. Joe Ordonez is like family to me! I’ve been a patient of his for years due to numerous issues and we’ve developed a personal Dr/patient relationship. He is the smartest man I know in Neurosurgery, has the BEST bedside manners, truly has empathy for his patients and not the money he’ll make off you, takes his time to explain the best solution for your situation and doesn’t “push” surgery on you. I actually had it to beg him to do my last surgery. Thank God I did and praise him and God that he did do it! My hip and leg no longer kill me like they were, I’m only in pain from the surgery I just had and am still healing from! His nurse Brooke has been amazing throughout the years as well. Although appointments may take a while, know that that is because of him being thorough and taking his time with each and every patient and not rushing you through to get to the next patient! That’s called being CARING and THOROUGH! I recommend Dr. ORDONEZ for any neurological needs for you or anyone you know. He is truly a lifesaver and will do everything in his power to give you your quality of life back.

Dr. Ordonez is a phenomenal neurosurgeon who really cares about his patients and wants the best outcomes for them. He performed surgery on my partner's neck for a spinal surgery and my partner has not had a significant amount of pain. Dr. O checks in on his patients often to make sure they are progressing as they should.

My husband and I both see Dr. Joe, he is kind compassionate and he really cares abut his patients. We would highly recommend Dr. Joe to anyone that needed Bake or neck surgery. His staff made the experience so simple for us both.

I was referred to Dr Skidmore's office when I discovered I had one disc which had already exploded in the lumbar region and a disc which was protruding and pressing against my spinal cord. I must say I have truly been blessed by the good doctor himself and his supremely professional staff. I've dealt with doctors before and the confusion which their office can often times produce. Dr Skidmore and his associates are the most professional people I have ever had a chance to work with. I say work with because he made me an integral part of all medical decisions. He was never pushy but he gave his opinion. During my two surgeries he came out personally to my wife and talked her through their success, and assuring her that I was in good hands. He always remembers our last visit and always comes in with a warm, optimistic disposition. The only downside to my inevitable healing is that there will soon come a time when I will no longer need to grace the doors of his office. Thanks, Dr Skidmore.

Dr. Skidmore and his group are wonderful! I've experienced nothing but genuine care and concern both before and after my surgical procedure. I've already recommended several people to Dr. Skidmore and will continue to do so.

I went to Dr. Skidmore, and he made me feel comfortable about having the surgery and my surgery was a success! His staff was the best. He was a godsend, considering I was a difficult patient.
