"Science Spectrum & OMNI Theater is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit educational corporation home to over 250 hands-on interactive science exhibits, live science shows, and the only aquarium in West Texas. The museum is an educational hub with science and technology exhibits, classes, an aquarium, and a 55-foot dome movie screen. Science Spectrum & OMNI Theater is the place for the pursuit of exploration and scientific education. American Windmill Museum aims to help various audiences learn about how people have used and continue to use human creativity to harness the wind for survival in various environments. The museum is widely known as the place to go to see windmills. The museum features more than 160 American-style windmills. Before establishing the museum, the collections were kept in storage until 1997, when the city of Lubbock approved a site for the museum. The collection was transferred to this new location by Harris and volunteers. On the grounds and within a small display house, windmills were erected. Visitors can explore more than a hundred rare and historic water-pumping windmills that are displayed within the museum. The American Windmill Museum is free for children under five.
