"Mackenzie Main City Park spans 248 acres of lush green space. Visitors can enjoy horseback riding along the park’s scenic equestrian trails, immersing themselves in the natural beauty of the area. The park offers a wide range of attractions, including a captivating sculpture garden, a designated prairie dog habitat, an amusement park, bike trails, ball fields, fishing spots, boating and paddleboarding opportunities, and numerous picnic tables for outdoor dining. Golf enthusiasts can take advantage of Meadowbrook Golf Course, which features two 18-hole championship courses. Additional highlights include a windmill museum, historic farm equipment displays, and the park’s collection of larger-than-life sculptures created by artist Steve Teeters. 2026 Update: Mackenzie Main City Park includes scenic canyon landscapes, rolling hills, lakes, and mixed paved and natural trails used for walking, jogging, and biking. The area has long served as a family entertainment destination with attractions such as Joyland Amusement Park and seasonal recreation activities. Meadowbrook Golf Course inside the park offers public golfing with views of the surrounding canyon terrain. The park also features equestrian trails and open recreation areas for outdoor sports and activities."

MACKENZIE MAIN CITY PARK REVIEWS

This park is very well maintained. The disc golf courses are great as well. There are 2 disc golf courses that are at Mackenzie park. Both courses have 2 tee pads for most baskets. I would recommend the park for anyone to visit. Jogging, bike riding, fishing, disc golf, cookouts, plus it also has the amphitheater.

Great park to enjoy an afternoon in nature. Fishing, strolling around the ponds, fly a kite, disc golf and more.

They have lots of things to do. There are trails, lakes, a golf course, a prairie dog town and more.

MAXEY PARK REVIEWS

This was my first time at this park. I use public transit and the bus stops at a park entrance. Restroom availability is a big plus for me. Having a large open area allowed me to enjoy my drone. I explored more with my drone camera as conditions were perfect for flying. A very nice lake, a playground for the kiddos (see photos), and there are ball fields, picnic areas as well as walking trails with workout stations. Everything was well maintained. It was my best park experience so far in Lubbock. I will come back and recommend this park.

Nice playground in this park with exercise equipment, playground for small and bigger children. Beautiful pond.

Great park for kids to enjoy. Huge playground and lots of nice and friendly people. You can even go fishing.

Love this park. They have a playground for the kids, a dog park, volleyball net, tennis court. And the garden is a beautiful calming place for a walk or beautiful pictures.

This is a huge park. It has a community pool and a large are to practice/play football, soccer, and really anything you like. Great for walks. It has a safety city and large wooded area .

Beltane in the Park was a delightful time with new and old friends...enjoying the celebration.
